A FEW WAYS WE CAN HELP
FORMAL EVALUATIONS
If you have any concerns about your child’s speech and language skills such as language development, articulation, stuttering, general communication or reading abilities, a formal evaluation may be warranted. Adults may also benefit from evaluations regarding their cognition, speech or language function as well. This service is performed to determine if speech therapy services are necessary.
TREATMENT
Once the evaluation is complete, treatment can begin if the evaluator has identified any disorders or delays in the modalities assessed. Our therapists will develop a treatment plan that will consist of personalized goals to target weaknesses. Treatment sessions are typically 30 minutes once or twice a week and all sessions are one to one, meaning one therapist per patient per treatment.
HOME AND SCHOOL PLANS
Our therapists provide a list of individualized strategies, home practice activities, resources and plans of action that will complement the treatment recommended. Research shows that family/teacher implementation of these plans leads to faster and more significant gains in speech therapy.
